July'11 - Week 4

AMAZON MyHabit (Orig. $31) - $6 shipped

Amazon recently just opened its own Private Designer Sale site called MYHABIT.
Until the end of August 2011, you can get $25 off with code SUMMER25.

I bought a rose ring with the code, for $6 shipped!! It's a hella pretty ring, a bit heavy, and not low/cheap quality like Forever 21 stuff. I luv it. Too bad it's slightly too big. I think it's a size 8.

You can find listing of older events on the Slickdeals forum here. Eventhough they are past events, you still can order from those events.

To use the code multiple times, just create a new account each time.

Two months ago, I bought the same jeans in different shade. I love these jeans! They fit perfect and make my legs look long and skinny! I wanted to buy the one below originally, but this pair cost $74. After waiting for 2 months, finally the price of this one has dropped to $24.xx, plus 20% off.

HURLEY Skinny Flare Jeans (Orig. $74) - $19.67 shipped

I purchased 2 pairs of shoes @ Agh, I wasn't supposed to buy anymore shoes LOL!

White Mountain and Sofft are companies that make comfy shoes, similar to Clarks and Birkenstock. I'm a sucker for comfy shoes.

WHITE MOUNTAIN Karaoke Sandals(Orig. $59) - $23.60
SOFFT Valencia Boots (Orig. $189) - $75.60

The sandals, I like the style, perfect to wear with anything, skirts, jeans, tights, etc. Comfortable footbed, I can walk for a long time in these.
There's only one problem though. The leather upper that goes around the top part of the foot is slightly too big/loose. So when I'm walking, my foot slides forward and pinch my 3rd toe, and it really hurts. After I applied one of those Foot Petals stickies, the sandals fit much better, no more sliding and toe-pinching.

The boots, no complains about them! I was worried the shaft would be too big for my calves, but it fits just right!

Hankook A3F[on] Peeling Gel - $41.94 shipped + Samples

The big bottle is a peeling gel. The 2 tubes are extra peeling gel and cream cleanser.
What the peeling gel does is removing dead skin from face, elbow, knee, or any place with dead and dry skin.

I knew about this product from my friend. I had a bunch of stubborn dry flaky skin around the sides and bottom parts of my nose. I thought it was there because I didn't apply enough moisturizer. After I used the peeling gel, no more dry flaky skin!

To use this product, you apply the gel evenly on your face. Leave it for a minute, you will feel tingling sensation. Then you rub and massage your face in circular motion. White and brown tinged flakes will gradually appear. Those flakes are dead skin. Wash your face with lukewarm water and dry with a towel. Your face is noticeably glowing after!

At first I was going to get the Laneige Strawberry Yogurt Peeling Gel, because it's pretty popular, but I couldn't find it online anywhere beside on eBay. It's expensive too, almost US$40 shipped. So, I bought this Hankook one instead, since it definitely works well, and I get more stuff for the price.

KERATIN COMPLEX Volumizing Dry Shampoo Lift Powder - $21.60

I saw this dry shampoo in Hair InStyle magazine last month. It looked really promising from the reviews and the price is not bad too, retail is $23.99, or $21.60 shipped from Amazon website. Plus, it also comes with a free refill. There's not many reviews online, I only could find 2-3 of them on some blogs. They were all good ones, of course. I guess because it's a new product. The latest review I could find was dated March 2011.

Last year, I was into The All Nighter Dry Shampoo powder. I liked it because I could pick the color of the powder so that it blended well with my black hair, but it's such a hassle to clean my forehead and my shirt from the black powder every time. There's also the Psst Instant Spray Shampoo, it worked okay, but I had to throw it away when it's only half empty because the build-up powder clogged the nozzle.

This Keratin Complex is SOOOOOO much better than those other two. The powder is white, but it doesn't turn my hair gray. My hair absorbs it instantly. Easy application too, you can use the brush or put some on your hand first to apply on your scalp. The powder absorbs build-up oil and dirt really well. After the application, I don't have the urge to wash my hair until the following day.

July'11 - Week 3

I went to visit my best friend in Califonia last weekend, 4 days and 3 nights. I had been delaying to go there for a year, there was always something came up,.... plus I didn't like being away from hubby for more than a couple of days. LOL
Her plan was to take me to a bunch of malls and sightseeing. One day, a girl posted on Facebook wall that she's going to get digital perm. That gave me an idea, and asked my friend to find a good and affordable salon that could do digital perm for me. There's absolutely no salon in Oregon that could do digital perm, as far as I know.

She took me to Park Seung Chol Hair Studio, in Garden Grove, CA. Great service and very affordable, only $120 + tip, for wash, cut and perm. Other places generally charge $200-$300.

I love the digital perm machine, so robotic-looking haha.

The hairstylist, Vicky, she trimmed and layered my hair a bit, she also explained to me how to style the perm, and she also gave me a full size hair serum too for free. For $120, it's such a good deal!

The hairstylist said the curls would look nicer after a few washes. A week has passed, my curls currently resemble to beach waves.
After I wash my hair, I pat dry, and apply the hair serum. Next, I spritz a little of curling spray, scrunch my hair and then blow dry on the cool temp setting.
In the morning, the curls turn into ugly flat weird kinks. I can prevent that by tying my hair in a bun, but it's uncomfortable sleeping w/ a big bump on the back of my head. So, to revive them, I just damp my hair with water and scrunch it. I don't put any hair styling products because it's just weighing the curls down and feel stiff. When my hair is dry, the curls bounce back.

Before vs After

Beside the curls reviving routine every morning, I love my hairrrr!! No need to curl it with a flat or curling iron anymore. I wish there's a digital perm salon in my state so that I didn't have to fly all the way to California to touch up my perm in the future.

Sephora emailed me about MUFE freebies for Sephora VIB members, with $35+ purchase. Yay!

Lab Shine Lip Gloss
HD Powder

Smoky Lash Mascara
Aqua Eyes Eyeliner
Graphic Pouch

So, my friend and I went to the store and bought a Boscia Detoxifying mask ($25) and a makeup setting spray.

I returned the Boscia mask after I tried it out with my friend, we agreed it's not worth the price. Nothing special about it. The Urban Decay makeup setting spray, it's not bad. With and without it, I don't see any dramatic difference. I think I won't purchase for the full size, plus it's pricey ($29). The MUFE freebie is pretty nice. They are small, but they will last me a few weeks. My favorite items are the powder and the lipgloss.

I went to H&M to look for a specific tee, I couldn't find it. I was SO bummed. But, I left the store not empty-handed. I bought a couple of skinny wrap belts for a buck each! I couldn't choose which size to get. I'm not sure if I want to wear it on my natural waistline or low on my hips. So, I bought both of them. They are only a buck each after all.

One of the places that my friend took me to was Little Tokyo. There were two Japanese stores that sold a bunch of knick knacks, from dolls, nail polishes, cosmetics, hair dyes, to kitchen utensils.

WAKILALA Bright Up Essence

LUCIDO-L Designing Aqua Hair Perm Water Spray

Two Crackle Nail Polish

I saw this hair styling product online when I was researching about digital perm. It's a very gentle hair setting spray for permed hair. I spritz this all over my hair before I blow dry.

I wasn't sure what this product was for when I bought it. The picture caught my attention. I assumed it's to brighten underarm skin. I researched it online, I was right, luckily. I use it after I shower. Too early to tell if it really works or not.

The Japanese stores also sold rows and rows of crackle nail polish in multiple brands. They also had the OPI brand too. I bought the cheaper/unknown brands for half of the OPI retail price. They work just as good as the more expensive OPI brand.

When we were at some outdoor malls, I forgot the name, we came across the Skinfood store. I thought they were only in Asia countries! Pretty pricey stuff, I guess it's similar to Body Shop pricing. The small ones like lip glosses and blushes are okay, around $8-$15. The bigger bottles such as toners or cleansers were around $20-30.
The employees were very nice, they gave their customers a bunch of masks and body scrubs samples.

I bought a creme blush ($9+tax) that gives my cheeks that natural rosy glow. The packaging is so small and cute. I love that it comes with a puff for easy application.

This dress is VERY comfy. Love it.
If I saw this dress online, I wouldn't have bought it. The white mid-section looks weird. I didn't notice it until I saw these modeled pictures.

FOREVER 21 Flora Jersey Dress - $17.50

I really like the neckline of this ON top. As you can see, it has partial cowlneck neckline. Very unique design. I wish it came in different colors. They only have this in olive green and black.

OLD NAVY Side-Twist Cowl-Neck - $19.94

When my friend and I were at Bloomingdales, we came across the sunglasses section. I noticed they had the Ray-Ban sunglasses. I always wanted a pair of the aviator sunglasses, but I had no clue which style suited my face shape. So, I tried out a bunch of them. I found the same sunglasses that I wanted to get on Amazon website for SO MUCH cheaperrrrr. After the 20% off discount code plus $50 gift card, I was able to buy the sunglasses for super cheap! Yay!

July'11 - Week 2

This year, somehow VS sent me THREE $10 birthday codes. One in a form of a card that could be used in-store and online, second online code was emailed to me, and the last code was in a catalog that came in the mail.

First one, I bought a couple of tops. I returned one of them, didn't like the color.
Second one, I bought a dress. I returned that one too, it's kinda too big and unflattering.
Third one, I bought this bra. I was going to give it away, but then I saw this bra online. I was excited because I wanted to buy this style in nude color. A few days before it's only available in white. So I purchased it right away with the last coupon.

Body by VS IPEX Full Coverage Bra (Orig. $38) - $25.49 shipped

These are my late birthday present from my close friend.

BLOOMINGDALES Big Canvas Bag Orig. $38
BLOOMINGDALES Little Brown Cosmetic Orig. $12

Bloomingdales emailed me a one-time use 25% off code, because I hadn't bought anything from them for a year.

I gave the code to my friend since she likes buying designer bags. She used the code to buy me the Bloomingdales bags above. She also bought the canvas bag and a Marc Jacob bag for herself. The MJ bag only cost $200 something after the discount, such a good deal.

I really like Bloomingdale's bags. They are so simple, just canvas bags with simple & obvious writing on them.
I also own a Bloomies cosmetic bag that I bought last year. It's kinda too big. I cannot use it when I want to carry a smaller handbag, so that's why I got the smaller one.

Amazon offered 20% off of clothes 1-2 weeks ago. Out of boredom, I browsed around and found this top. THREE DOTS quality is really good and the fabric is thick, unlike clothes nowadays, thin and flimsy fabric.
The color of this top is as pictured, rich deep violet color. Unfortunately I can't wear this for another few months. It's too thick for spring/summer.

THREE DOTS Modal 3/4 Sleeve Cowlneck (Orig. $58) - $15.41

July'11 - Week 1

I purchased these on, when they had 75% off of Clarks shoes/sandals.

OMG, the footbed of these sandals are heaven!! The cushion is as comfortable as walking on a pillow! Why all shoes company can't make their shoes as comfortable as these sandals?!

CLARKS Holly Amber (Orig. $75) - $33.32 shipped

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

I have love/hate relationship with high heels. They make my legs look hot, but I cannot wear them more than 2 hours consecutively. So, instead of walking barefooted, I bought these foldable flats as a backup, they come in a little pouch. So you can keep them in your purse neatly.
The plain black version is cheaper. I got the snakeskin one since it looks nicer.

FIT IN CLOUDS - black snakeskin foldable flats - $21.94 shipped

There are many cheaper version, like only costs $6-$10/pair, but they are crappy. They are flimsy/thin, and/or the sole is thin too so they aren't comfortable to wear outdoor (the customers reviews said so). These Fit in Clouds flats are neither. The soles are pretty thick and they aren't made of flimsy material.
